Bloodhound Books partner with Red Dog Press in major new initiative
Indie publisher Red Dog Press has joined forces with Bloodhound Books to handle its publishing, marketing, distribution and rights sales.
The agreement will see the digital rights to many of its backlist titles now managed by Bloodhound Books, a UK e-book specialist indie, which is embarking on strategic growth plans to reach a wider readership.
Betsy Reavley, co-founder of Bloodhound with Fred Freeman, said: "We are thrilled to be working with Sean Coleman, the director at Red Dog. This next phase should mean that Red Dog titles can reach even larger audiences through digital sales, allowing Sean to remain focused on acquisition, and print sales. There have been many changes in the industry over the last 10 years and together we hope to achieve great things going forward. Sean put everything into building Red Dog and has an impressive author list. We can’t wait to join that journey alongside them."
Coleman commented: "It’s been an incredible few years launching and running Red Dog, and I’m so proud of the books and company we have built. It felt like the right time to try something new, and I’m delighted that Red Dog has such a firm foundation for the future. Bloodhound are a natural fit, with their forward thinking approach to digital sales, and I am excited by what the future holds."
David Steinberger, c.e.o. of Open Road Media, which acquired Bloodhound Books last year, said: "Thank you to Betsy and Fred for identifying and securing this opportunity. I am very excited to see what the future holds for Bloodhound Books and the Red Dog titles. The team at Open Road Media will be working behind the scenes to help facilitate the distribution and marketing of these exciting books. I want to thank everyone for working together to get us to this point."
