Jannie Ireland Joins Bloodhound Books
Bloodhound books are pleased to announce that author Jannie Ireland has joined us and we will be releasing her book next year!
Jannie is originally from The Netherlands and moved to the UK to become a drama student at a
London Drama School. After completing her training, she moved to Italy to perform with the
Florence Rep. Company. She then trained for another year at a Stuttgart Speech and Drama
Academy in Germany, and it was during this time she was asked to join Dionysia Productions, an
English speaking Touring company, who performed Shakespeare’s plays in schools all over Europe.
Eventually, she settled down with her British husband in Chelmsford, Essex and became a drama
teacher in Essex schools as well as a mum at the age of 44.
While teaching, she started to write which led to studying at the Open University, achieving a BA in
English Literature and a MA in Creative Writing. Rehearsing a school production with her pupils of The Pied Piper of Hamelin, based on Robert Browning’s poem, led her to write her debut novel Hamelin. She is currently working on a sequel.
